From 20 July to 20 August, the photographic exhibition "Your Africa - Maria Bonino and cooperation south of the Sahara" will be open at the municipal library of Ayas - Antagnod. The exhibition, created in collaboration with the Municipality of Ayas and the Maria Bonino Foundation, will have Elvezio Pagani's shots on display. The friend and photographer immortalized the faces of mothers and children, the landscapes and the situations experienced during his stay at the Ikonda hospital, in Tanzania, where he worked, with Maria.
Maria Bonino was a pediatrician who dedicated her professional life to the care of African children, especially those suffering from severe or chronic malnutrition. She died in Luanda, Angola, in 2005 along with many of her young patients from a resurgence of haemorrhagic fever
