Great Classic of the Valley. It is a very easy route for beginners, but really evocative and fascinating. You start out from Champoluc and follow the main road to the large market car park. From here begins the path through the forest called Pian Villy where you can admire some sculptures by the most important artists in the Aosta Valley that will accompany you as far as Frachey. From this point along the main road you reach the village of St Jacques. From the church walk up the road along the stream until you reach a characteristic votive niche in the middle of the roadway, after which you should take the first road to the right.
From this point, a dirt track winds its way for 4 km through 19 hairpin bends to the large meadow of the Alpe di Verra. This is a unique place to observe the rose glaciers and the large glacial moraines.
The return journey is on the same road as the one from Champoluc.
